Food photographer Karl Newedel began his career as a chef and worked in luxury restaurants around the world before taking up the camera. His experience in top restaurants in Germany, Switzerland, Bermuda and India were the perfect preparation for food styling and food photography.

Before starting out as a freelance photographer he spent four years working with established food stylists and photographers. Now he provides images to both editorial and commercial clients such as major publishers, ad agencies and film production companies. Many of the cook books he has photographed have won national and international prizes.

He is fascinated by the possibilities of light in the creation of images and has established a name for himself in the industry. Now many clients tap his vast pool of knowledge to improve or test recipes. The studio where his team of dedicated professionals works is also equipped with a state-of-the-art kitchen.
