Thomas Firak began his career working at the Kraft Foods printing department operating a Photostat camera, while studying photography at night attending Columbia College in Chicago. In 1973 Kraft photo studio director Fitz Lee hired him and he would spend the next five years at the Kraft photo studio refining his talents in still life, food, location, people and product photography.
In July 1978 he opened his own photography studio in Chicago. His work has appeared in national advertisements, websites and label packaging for many leading consumer product companies. Some of his most recent projects include photography for Turano Baking Co., Maple Leaf Bakeries, Armour/Eckrich, Barton Beers, McCain Foods, Petstages, Saputo Cheese Co., ConAgra Foods and Papa Charlie’s Beef Co. He enjoys creating outdoor sets in the studio as well as outdoor location photography.
